Shoddy, Shady “Facts” and “Statistics”…
“Child sexual abuse is out of control. Just look at the statistics: 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before their 18th birthday. [If kids were dying from "yadda, yadda, yadda" at this rate...the public would be outraged, and things would be done to stop it].”

There are at least two critical problems with these “alarming statistics”.
First, they are projected speculation, harvested from [typically anonymous] public surveys; where people’s self assessment is critical, yet that same assessment is vulnerable to pop culture, sexual superstitions.
Second, the term “child sexual abuse” is so convoluted, with extremely broad definitions conflicting against moderate [and honest] definitions…most people are likely debased, when it comes to any ability, to distinguish between normal sexual experience [development], and true sexual assault.
Many cultures are saturated with anti sex propaganda, most viciously aimed at all things related to childhood sexuality…as a result, public perception of sexuality typically designates sexuality including a certain list of criteria, as “assault” by default.
The law, many religions, special interest [and hate] groups and individuals have blurred the line…
…and large numbers of people, mistake what these cultural influences have to say, with “moral guidance”…or “what is right”, and “what is wrong”…when, factually, they are merely political.
What does it mean, when someone agrees, that they were “sexually abused” as a child?
Does it mean, that they are looking at the laws, or reading some book on “child sex abuse”, and admitting that their experience fits the technical criteria outlined by the author(s)?
…Does it mean, that they were never allowed to think of what happened to them, in any other way than “abuse”; and they never had the nerve to describe it with other words?
…Or does it mean, that they were factually assaulted; that they suffered real, measurable pain, injury and trauma?
You see?
It is all so very concealed, and vague…
…It is manipulation of raw data, at it’s worst…to paint a picture, and cause people to believe something, which has never been substantiated.
Always think deeply, whenever you are confronted by these kinds of “statistics”…
…and ask yourself, “If sex abuse is so rampant, and it’s so life devastating, then why has our culture avoided falling into complete shambles?”
“Pedophilia is Not a Sexual Orientation?”…Prove It!
I have an open and standing challenge, for any takers…
Many people like to claim, that pedophilia is not a natural, sexual orientation, and that there is something abnormal about it. To those who adhere to this belief, I am calling you out.
This is your chance, to prove your contention, once and for all…It is time to engage your mind, and make your case.
A few ground rules, however…
Shallow “talking points” [ie: phrases you have been conditioned to parrot, while failing to engage them critically and objectively, yourself], will not be accepted as “proof” of anything…so, you can leave things like, “It’s not sex between two consenting adults”, in the intellectual gutter, where they strictly belong…This challenge has higher standards.
Appeals to cultural norms [or constructions, like the modern day paradigm on "childhood"] shall also not be accepted, as these are not indicative of natural human biology, and sexuality. Cultures are largely infamous, for trying to eradicate, and “vote out of existence”, many aspects of the human nature.
Unless you can soundly substantiate such a claim, then denying that pedophilia fills at least one [but likely multiple] role[s] of human sexual intimacy, will also not be accepted.
Citing the DSM [Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders], especially given the critical blow to it’s integrity which it received when, for strictly political reasons, it removed “vanilla grade” homosexuality from it’s listings as a
“mental disorder”, will not gain you any credibility. The DSM will change, based upon public pressure, and social trends. This does not bode well, when trying to evoke it as an authoritative resource, on human sexuality [or many other issues, for that matter].
And lastly…
Simple assertion of an accusation as “being fact”, also will not be accepted. Denial of many sexual minorities, to the right of calling their sexual orientation, an actual “sexual orientation”, is an ages old tactic of social and political subterfuge. This is nothing more, than denying minorities the words and ideas they need, to define themselves, communicate and gain a political equal footing/status, with other social groups.
Now, here is what I would like to see you [the ardent, staunchly assured person, who absolutely knows these things] prove soundly and without question…
a) that pedophilia is not a natural, human, sexual orientation, as a matter of biological nature and historically demonstrable fact.
b) that pedophilia is not normal, as one aspect of human sexuality.
c) that childhood sexuality does not exist, and/or is incompatible with pedophilia.
d) that pedophilia serves no natural utility, for the good of the human species.
e) that children are biologically prone towards trauma, when confronted with non-violent human sexuality.
f) that children are mentally hardwired, to “feel wrong” or “affraid of” human sexuality, without prior being socially groomed, to feel spooked, ashamed or dirty, when encountering human sexuality.
g) that legal minors are, by majority, incapable of mutually, and productively, engaging a sexual relationship, because of a literal and overwhelming deficiency in them.
Take your best shot at any of these, any combination of them…or all of them…

I would really like to see what people, trying to engage their own minds with critical thought, and trying to substantiate what really amounts to pop culture trends, can come up with.
Many people take these accusations above for granted…but, how many of them can actually be proven with fact?
Come on!…Make your case…
