SOSEN…
Uncommon Sense edition 4, has a rather good article pertaining directly to something, which has been on my mind for a while.
…and that is, sex offender law reform groups, and the general hostility that some of them show towards self identified child/teen lovers, and adults/minors who refuse to accept the victim/abuser paradigm, or the stigma surrounding various forms of human sexuality.
If you reserve the right, to say and believe that the blow job you received at age 9 was not abuse, then chances are…some of these groups do not think to highly of you.
SOSEN is a group, which focuses on reforming sex offender registries…and as such, they have much overlapping common ground, with many of us out here, in the broader sexual liberation movement.
…However, they took the step of condemning NAMBLA, a handful of months back, and disassociating themselves with various other groups, who do not outright shun NAMBLA, or who do associate with any NAMBLA members.
While I think this is much to their groups own peril, I appreciate that people’s choices need to be respected…and they are free to unassociate.
It is incredibly sad, depressing and frustrating, to witness anything that might be reasonably called “in fighting”…just senseless bickering, and wasting of energy, fighting amongst the wrong people.
We should be allies, to whatever extent we can be, and our goals match…Yet, you read the SOSEN blog, and you may come across messages from members saying…
…”[They'd] be the first to [assault, insult, ban or otherwise hinder] a pedophile”…
This paraphrase is actually based upon member comments, at their blog…
I keep thinking to myself…
…”You don’t need to be this nasty, or abusive”…
There is nothing served in being like this.
It has also been noticed, that groups like Corrupted-Justice [a whistle blowing group, aimed at Perverted Justice], also has members who are prone towards hostility, aimed at anyone who identifies in a positive way, as a child/teen lover…
There is to much senseless fighting going on, when all it does is waste the time and resources, of people who are largely working towards the same goals.
I respect that a lot of people associated with both groups, are not themselves miner attracted persons…and hence, lack any personal reference to empathise with…
…but, good grief…Cannot you see the connections, between how our exposure of law, politics, abuse and hate fight corruption, and how your fighting is aimed at the exact same goal?
I don’t hate the people of SOSEN, or like groups [though, I do believe some of them are self loathing, child/teen lovers, who never really found themselves]…but given their track record, I do not trust them on a personal basis.
It feels so outrageous, that hate has to exist, even in places like that.
Rape Apologists…
I am not a rape apologist.
I do not deny, overlook or excuse real violence and rape…nor do I absolve those who are responsible. In fact, if you bother to look at my history, it is starkly clear that I have never embraced true, sexual violence, nor excused acts of violence and real abuse. I support accountability, and always have.
What I do, is recognise that many people take an absurdly broad definition of “rape”, and use it deceptively in order to impose their own intentions, upon others who disagree with them, or would otherwise choose not to follow their wishes.
I also recognise, that this behavior is counterproductive, it wastes public resources without providing a true public good, it devastates peoples lives [often being the worst, or only, trauma involved in the entire conflict], and it creates different subclasses of citizen, vulnerable to gross exploitation.
When I take a stand, I am telling you and anyone else out there…
…that you have no right to usurp the voices of others, nor to subvert their life experiences, by subjectively labeling “rape”, those experiences which they [child or adult] would willfully choose for themselves to experience.
You do not have the right, to take those experiences we [child or adult] find personal value in, deny the good we have received from them, fabricate a fraudulent injury from it, and completely mischaracterize it…[certainly not without being exposed, for the poor quality, dishonest character which you possess].
We [child and adult] have right to the integrity of our own cognition…and dishonest assault on our cognition, is an assault against us.
I condemn all who call “rape”, things which cannot sanely be recognised as rape, by those who are experiencing them, and willingly [often enthusiastically] choose to participate.
Human sexuality is a beautiful thing…
…Children are humans, too…they have a sexuality, and full ability to engage and benefit from it…These experiences are life enhancing.
You do not have the right to call human sexuality “rape”, just because some people suppose certain types of human sexuality are socially inconvenient…or because of superstitious objections…or because of incompetent ignorance of natural, human sexuality…or because legislators hold a vote, and come up with subjective lists…or because of simple ageism…or because of sex-phobia…or because you are uncomfortable with it, and just wish others wouldn’t…or, or, or…
Calling beautiful, sexual experiences “a rape”, is a filthy, wretched lie.
…and I will continue to consistently call the people who do this, liars…I will identify them, as people lacking integrity, and not associated with honesty.
Not one single thing about this, makes me a “rape apologist”…
I am simply identifying those amongst us, who live with a sex psychosis…and often a predatory disposition, of control, abuse and exploitation of others.
Rick Roberts Wants to Know…
“Rick went back to your calls on the Dubois tragedy. He talked about how things were when he was a kid. He asked when it was that things changed so drastically… Why, for instance, sex crimes seem so common these days.
One of the fundamental reasons, is because so much more human sexuality has been criminalized, focused on with an obsession and demonized.
The repression, and violence towards all hints of stigmatized sexuality, have lead to a lot of frustration, anger and maladjustment…in all of those who have been denied their humanity, and a valid chance to love those they naturally would.
So you see, Rick…
…this is a double assault, where increasing technicalities of the law have infringed upon natural, beautiful sexuality, replacing it with violence and hate…and where the fallout of said violence and hate, has created an even uglier backlash of brutality.
It is a cycle, of broken practices creating broken minds…
…How else can one expect these targets to react, when they have nowhere else to go?…or no escape?
What Brings a Person to the Point…
…where they no longer believe in a god?
I don’t know that there is any “one” thing, but I can tell you…
It takes much sincere searching, and this kind of searching conditions the mind, for that moment of truth…where the revelation hits you.
The way out of theism, and laying the god concept starkly bare…is opening your mind, to the possibility that all you have been taught “about god” previously, is false…is opening your mind, to other philosophies, to science…is opening your mind, to confront with honesty whatever you discover…
One must first give themselves permission, to explore without cowering in intimidation, over what they have previously believed “god’s wrathful retaliation would be, for rejecting him/her/it”.
The biggest hurdle, is the fear and intimidation…The shock of breaking that mental barrier.
…but, once you do…
…your mind can no longer be contained, or controlled, by superstition.
Disbelief in a god comes naturally, if you have the honesty and determination, to press on…seeking answers to the many hard questions…and not retreating from uncomfortable answers…
Having the integrity to employ stark honesty, is critical…It is rejecting the “feel good” answers, wherever there is nothing of substance to support them.
Disbelief in a god creature, is the most honest stance I am aware of…given the lack of any clear, demonstrable path, leading back to any such creature.
The only thing I have encountered, testifying to the existence of a god, can be summed up in the term…
…”empty assertions”…
Many people and texts assert “god’s existence” as true…
…yet, it is a subjective assertion, of personal interpretation…not a soundly demonstrable path, or procedure that brings before us a creature, which we could test, know and understand as being “a god”.
As to the remaining questions:
1) No, I do not believe in a god.
2) I say jesus christ is a composite character, taking aspects from previous characters of religious lore, and perhaps even one or more real people.
It has not been my experience, that much of what is thought to be christianity, is factually originated within christianity. That religion has usurped so many, pre-existing story models, virtues, holidays/observances and rituals form other religions and secular festivities, that it really is little more than a self glorified, species of paganism.
3) What has led me to this conclusion, is a much broader study of history, social structures and power, religions and human beings.
It is out there, if you have the will to face it.
The fallacies within christianity and the bible, are also what lead me out of this religion…and to declare it a fraud.
For example, declaring those without the christian god as being “wicked”, or that they have no valid moral compass, unless they receive guidance directly from the christian god [which in reality, meant christian prophets of the time]…is a complete lie.
Christianity took it’s morals [commandments] from pre-existing religion and culture models…None of what came out of christianity, was new or revolutionary.
Christianity is a hack, or frankenstein, religion.
You have to be able to see above the religious haze, before the gravity of this can honestly set in.
This is why, so many christians cannot see, talk about, or engage these historical and rationally honest facts, in any meaningful way…
…Their mind is trapped in the shock and horror, of “what god will do to them, if they open their mind to rejecting him”.
I was once there…I understand this very well…very personally.
Is a “Flat Tax” the Answer?…
America’s Change We Can Believe In
On it’s face, “everybody pays XX%”, sounds fair…and ten percent is a typical number to put out there…but, is this practical, especially when you consider the devastated financial state that so many of us live in, today?
As a disabled vet, with a poverty level, yearly income, a 10% income tax [total, or just federal?] would be devastating.
It seems, the people who think “across the board 10% tax for everyone” is a good thing, are those who historically have been comfortable, and had it fairly good for themselves.
They just don’t comprehend, what something like that would do, to a vast chunk of the population.
Many cant afford it, and things would get ugly, if they tried to enforce it.
You can only keep squeezing for so long, before things begin to break down.
As things stand, I rely on getting my tax returns back…and if 10% were suddenly being taken out of my paychecks [as if I could afford the additional loss, after watching my income chronically dwindle, for the past three years], this would more than double my taxes.
There are reasons, why people who make the least are expected to pay the least amount of taxes…and people who make the most, are expected to pay the most taxes.
The huge losers, will be the people who are just scraping by, and all the people who will no longer have that extra money to put away for emergencies, investment and savings.
…You know…those people who are a paycheck or two away, from being thrown out into the streets…
If comfortable business owners, who are making an average yearly salary, want to pay ten percent, then let them…
…but don’t think for one moment, that “everybody paying 10%” will solve our national woes.
That move would cause far more problems for the majority of people, than it could ever hope to solve…It would make the lives of many [probably millions], nonfunctional…because they could no longer afford to pay their costs, and care for themselves [and their family] properly.
Deep and practical consideration, is in order here.
Aside from that, I actually like much of the other things this guy says, in his video.
Not sure if we can productively move forward with democrats and republicans, though…I think, it may be time for these parties to entirely die.
Simply restocking them, may be a mistake.
Does the Internet Live Up to It’s Potential?…
…Or, maybe the question is, are the people online using the internet, to the best of their abilities?
I once thought the internet was great…and I still do, but…there is no question, it is tarnished in my mind.
We, the oppressed and disadvantaged…we have a frontier that we can use, advance in and thrive from…but, how many really do this?
…and what is the quality, of what the majority of us are doing?
I don’t want to throw stones…and I know, the internet is different things to different people…
…I still cannot see much of the content online, as being much more than a virtual wasteland…where people who have nothing constructive to contribute to the world, gather to amuse themselves…often by taring others down.
The internet does attract, the lowest common denominators amongst humans, after all…
I sometimes wonder if it is not more of a detriment to us, being online…because it means we are no longer forced to take to the streets…and show up in the flesh, angry and ready to fight for our lives, and all that is good about them.
I wonder if anyone is paying attention…and if any of this is going to mean anything, someday.
As to StopDrLaura.com…
While I may not be a huge supporter of boycott and censorship campaigns [in fact, I detest them], I do think this website offers a stark, relevant character reference, for Laura Schlesinger as a bigot.
Note that the actual campaign is long over, and this is merely an archive, with content of the campaigns website.
Gay & Lesbian Activists, That Just Don’t Get It…
“…one of our favorite Dr. Laura quotes: “How many letters have I read on the air from gay men who acknowledge that a huge portion of the male homosexual populace is predatory on young boys?” [...] and we were outraged that Paramount would give a national platform to someone intent on spreading that kind of intolerance against a class of Americans.”
Of course, nobody deserves having their character smeared, and being called “predatory”, when they factually are nothing of the sort.
…but, here is the issue…
They spend no time contesting the validity of the accusation [that said behavior is "predatory on young boys"], and merely try to distance themselves from “that kind of behavior”.
It is not a question of whether or not this “deserves” to be called predatory…Many so called progressives, buy into the pop culture intolerance, hook, line and sinker…and without any deeper, critical examination.
It is a question of whether or not, they themselves, are being associated with anything stigmatised, that might hold them back socially and politically.
The fact that calling man/boy sexual relations “predatory”, as an absolute default, is a lie, does not even factor into how or why they respond.
There is no integrity, in searching out and standing up for the truth…It is just all about retreating from the stigma and lies.
Many of these gay and lesbian groups, are all to willing to repeat these exact same lies…and propagate hate, violence and intolerance…so long as they don’t perceive it, as coming back on themselves in a bad way.
They demand that others treat them with integrity and respect, yet refuse these same dignities to others.
Astonishingly incredulous, but true.
It is not my intent to point fingers and condemn others…but, it is high time, that groups who claim to be for truth and freedom, actually stand for these things, unflinchingly across the board.
It is time they addressed the issues of political smearing aimed at all sexual minorities…and issues of integrity, honesty and respect for the life choices of others.
If they only focus on looking out for their own skewed interests, then they probably aren’t much of a supporter of freedom and honesty, in the wider sense.
This is one of the biggest tragedies, of the gay and lesbian movement.
Ryan Sorba – The Born Gay Hoax…
It seems like there are always a surplus of people, all to ready to redefine and dismiss…in order that realities of life not hinder their own prejudice.
Is being born gay “a hoax”?…
Being homosexual is a simple reality of nature, for those who have experienced life as homosexuals.
True, not everyone is comfortable with being different, and the social dangers posed by those who are intolerant of sexual diversity, is difficult to live with…
…but, the emergence of homosexuality is transparent, to the individual…It is just there, to be discovered…and this typically happens, at an early age.
For many of us, this is an alternative, yet parallel, experience to those who are heterosexual.
Homosexuality is part of who we are…This exists, in place of being heterosexual.
Many people deny the possibility, of being born gay…
…but, the true life experiences of so many of us, who grew up homosexual, stand as a sound contest to this.
Homosexuality is in born, at least to some degree.
I would never consider dismissing the role of culture, entirely. However, the only thing culture is likely to introduce, is a general understanding on levels of social acceptance…Or, in other words, it can make clear, a level of tolerance and open-mindedness…which can ease tensions, and reluctance, to explore these kinds of attractions.
If you are to intimidated to even talk about it, then you are unlikely to try it, even if you are homosexual. This is why so many anti-homosexual people are aggressive, towards every expression of positive homosexuality, within their culture.
It is important to keep in mind, though, that a general permissiveness is not going to instill a sexual attraction.
That must already exist, within the individual…
If it does not, then encouragement towards homosexuality does absolutely nothing, to those people who would not have been inclined to have homosexual relations, in the first place.
Indefinite Detainment of Terrorists…
“A bill introduced today in the Senate would hand the government the power to indefinitely detain terrorism suspects without charge or trial, dealing a swift blow to due process and the rule of law.”
What McCain And Lieberman are up to
I think, “terrorists” are a convenient, panic inducing issue, getting exploited in order to smooth over the glaring fact…that this sort of thing is being imposed, within our system.
If they can write this into law, and enforce it in the face of the U.S. Constitution…then this sort of thing can happen to anybody…anybody at all, that gets accused of being a “terrorist”.
Some politicians, including george w. bush, have had a history of intertwining “pedophiles” with terrorism, when rambling through their mental diarrhea at the political podium.
The writing on the wall has been here, for some time…and the political “undesirables” of the United States…the “underclasses”…especially those of us who have been getting the rawest of deals, all of our lives, and who are prime for an uprising…
…Isn’t it convenient, that they have an excuse, to lay the foundation for a new system, that can just lock people up?…call them “terrorist”, and put them in a cage…
I am thinking more in line of, “domestic terrorism”…or “home grown terrorists”…
…and applying these ideas, to people who are stigmatized, and who merely are trying to communicate with the world…yet, the chronically offended amongst us will fly into a frenzy…and claim they are “terrified” of the stigmatized group(s) and people…
Is such a liberal interpretation “out of line”?…
…Is it wrong to anticipate this?
